Using VCO

With Voice Carryover (VCO), you can choose to use your voice when you speak to the person you are calling. The role of the Video Interpreter (VI) will be simply to sign what the other person says.

To use VCO with ViableVRS, you will need an audio input device, such as a microphone plugged into the videophone or computer, a cell phone, or a standard telephone. When you connect to ViableVRS, tell the VI, "I would like to use VCO" and the VI will promptly set up a connection with your audio input device.

There are several ways you can use VCO with ViableVRS:

  • Via Viable Vision, our VRS software for PC users
  • Via the VPAD, our videophone hardware which allows for automatic VCO opt-in
  • Via any videophone by dialing ViableVRS.TV
  • Via XMeeting for Mac users

The power of choice is in your hands!
