ViableVRS is our 24/7 video relay service (VRS) that uses videoconferencing technology and enables you to experience phone calls naturally using sign language. ViableVRS is a form of Telecommunications Relay Services, which is mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 so deaf and hard of hearing persons can achieve functional equivalence with the telephone.

Either caller can start a ViableVRS call. When you connect to ViableVRS, simply give the VI the number to dial. When the other person answers your call, chat like you would in any phone conversation; say what you want and the VI will interpret for you and the conversation will go back and forth until someone hangs up.
