Viable is seeking full-time and part-time Video Relay Interpreters to work in Rockville or Ellicott City. The Video Relay Interpreter (VI) is primarily responsible for providing video relay interpreting services in a call center environment.

Responsibilities:

Applicant should be able to provide superior interpreting skills for a variety of consumers i.e. MLS (minimal language skills) users, professionals, ASL users, English users and foreign born deaf consumers. They should also have a facility with sign-supported speech and oral interpreting. The successful applicant will be flexible and professional, exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and work well in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Requirements:

• Practical knowledge of the RID and NAD Code of Professional Conduct/Code of Ethics.
• Excellent interpreting skills with the ability to interpret for a wide variety of consumers.

Creative Director

Viable is seeking a multimedia creative director to coordinate and direct the design process and key design talent in producing multimedia titles, such as computer-based training, web sites and other online systems, software, interactive TV and other platforms, in addition to developing basic presentation approaches and directing layout design and copy writing for promotional material such as books, magazines, newspapers, television, posters and packaging by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in initial product development meetings, help identify overall goals and messages for particular multimedia titles.
• Apply knowledge of design, electronic media and interactivity to determine appropriate technologies and platform for final product.
• Create overall design concept for product and communicate design goals and messages to creative team, ensuring integration of design requirements into all phases of production.
• Review materials and information presented by marketing director and discuss various production factors to determine most desirable presentation concept.
• Confer with appropriate heads to discuss Viable's requirements and scheduling, outline basic presentation concepts and coordinate creative activities.
• Review and approve art and copy materials developed by staff.
• Present final layouts to appropriate heads for approval.
• Oversee activities of design team members.
• Provide input to appropriate heads regarding timelines, tasks, staffing and financial and technical resources necessary for design and media production.
• Create and maintain a consistent and appropriate look for projects and collateral pieces such as packaging, marketing and corporate identity materials.
• Develop or refine the design process to reflect technical requirements of delivery platform.
• Oversee development of scripts, storyboards, maps, flow charts, user interface design and navigation schemes.
• Research and analyze industry trends and maintain knowledge of emerging multimedia technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.

• Experience in Multimedia, web site design, HTML newsletters, catalog and other print mediums.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

VoIP Software Engineer

The VoIP Software Engineer will be responsible for assisting Viable's senior engineer with the development of our flagship call center platform.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the research, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge VoIP technologies.
• Work closely with the operations team for a smooth transition from R&D to ops.
• Provide 3rd tier support, including troubleshooting and problem determination, log analysis, coding fixes and enhancements to the platform.
• Help improve the test suite by identifying areas of weaknesses / developing tests.
• Assist the senior engineer in coordinating the project's technical requirements/logistics.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Extensive experience with VoIP and signaling (SIP/H.323).
• A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts and client/server programming.
• Proficiency in Perl, C and XML.
• Familiarity with the Linux development environment.
• Experience with POE ( perl module ) is essential.

• Respond to all email and video inquiries related to ViableVRS, Viable Vision and the VPAD to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

• Recognize, document and alert the supervisor of customer call trends.
• Follow up on customer inquires not immediately resolved.
• Serve as liasion between the customer and various departments.

Requirements:

• Familarity with PC and videophone troubleshooting, networking, router configurations and firewall issues.

Viable Representative (Contractual)

Locations: Accepting nationwide applications.

The position is responsible for assisting deaf and hard-of-hearing customers with installing the VPAD, Viable Vision and ViableVRS, troubleshooting networking issues, training customers to use ViableVRS and undertaking other marketing-related projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Assist deaf and hard-of-hearing customers in installing videoconferencing products.
• Provide technical assistance to customers requiring help in: (1) setting up Viable Vision and/or VPAD's; (2) adding ViableVRS.tv to their videophone; and (3) placing a ViableVRS call using both methods.
• Provide remote customer education and training on using ViableVRS, developing educational/training materials as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues as required to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Report service-related issues and interface with the Viable Customer Support Team.
• Provide, on a escalation basis, second-tier customer support and/or technical assistance to customers, in collaboration with the Customer Support Team.
• Transfer knowledge and learning to first-tier customer support to minimize number of escalations to second-tier Customer Support Team.

Customer Feedback and Understanding

• Disseminate and collect customer feedback for Regional Coordinator.
• Identify and communicate patterns and trends in customer usage based on observations.

Customer Interactions and Brand Building

• Promote favorable perception of the Company's brands and offerings with customers through regular interactions and participation in special events, as directed by Viable.
• Provide regional presentations and/or workshops for Viable's products and services.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with deaf and hard of hearing communities, including but not limited to the following: business, education, government and community-based organizations
