Outreach

The country is a big place and Viable employees are constantly on the go, interacting with deaf and hard of hearing persons in their hometowns and meeting with stakeholder organizations. Some of the ways we connect with deaf and hard of hearing persons out in our community include:

  • Presenting workshops and participating on panel sessions
  • Exhibiting at community events and tradeshows
  • Conducting one-on-one and group training as well as hands-on demonstrations

Interpreting

In response to the nationwide shortage of sign language interpreters intensified by the hiring demands of VRS call centers, Viable has designed a Community Interpreting program that allows its staff interpreters to take on assignments out in the community local to their call center location. This means requests for interpreting services for much-needed events such as doctor visits are more likely to be met. In addition to providing our interpreters with valuable field experience that benefits them in call center environments, which ultimately benefits ViableVRS customers, Viable believes that making its interpreters available to the community is the right thing to do.

Sponsorship

Viable values its deaf and hard of hearing customers and shares its resources to enhance our communities. Following is a sample of areas in which we are pleased to be recognized as a major sponsor:
