News Release: 2009 DSA Conference

by glenn, communications guy on June 19th, 2009

The 2009 Deaf Seniors of America Conference is underway!

logo-lDSA was one of the first victims of the banking crisis when its bank collapsed in 2008 along with $170,000 in conference funds. Viable is stepping in and donating 500+ hours of  interpreting and support services. We are all about providing communication access to those who need it most.

We are also proud to be providing a videophone lounge with VPADs for public use so attendees can call deaf friends as well as hearing family members and their healthcare providers in between conference workshops and Vegas buffets.

See our news release on our sponsorship.

Attending? Feel free to walk up to Viable president and co-founder John T.C. Yeh or any of the dozen Viable employees currently in Las Vegas for the opening day of the conference.

News Release: VideoMail

by glenn, communications guy on June 10th, 2009

Today we rolled out VideoMail – Oscar first blogged about it last week.

You could look at VideoMail as the video equivalent of voice mail — when you’re away, you can receive ASL messages from voice callers through a video interpreter as well as directly from videophone callers.

Here’s our official announcement.  Comments welcome!
